Solar panel recycling in Tijuana
Mexico’s first solar farms and rooftop installations are reaching end of life — and very few handlers know what to do with the modules. We take them in, recover the materials and document the disposal for your company.
- Records per lot
- Data destroyed where it applies
- Pickup at your facility
- NOM-161 compliance
What we take
Crystalline silicon modules
The most common technology on industrial roofs and solar farms: we recover the glass, the aluminium frame, the copper wiring and the junction box.
Damaged or insurance-claim panels
Hail, transport damage or manufacturing defects. Broken modules cannot be reinstalled, but their materials are still recoverable.
Repowering lots
When a farm or industrial roof upgrades to higher-efficiency modules, we take the entire outgoing lot.
Inverters, racking and balance of system
Inverters and system electronics are processed as e-waste; the metal structure as recoverable metal.
How it works
- 1
Inventory the lot
Tell us how many modules, the technology if you know it, and where they are. That is enough for us to quote the removal.
- 2
Documented pickup and transport
We collect at your site — industrial roof, solar farm or warehouse — with chain of custody from the moment the material leaves.
- 3
Dismantling and recovery
We separate frame, glass, wiring and laminate to recover the materials and dispose of the rest under control, with documentation for your environmental file.

Questions about photovoltaic solar panels
Can solar panels be recycled in Mexico?
Yes. The aluminium frame, the glass, the copper wiring and the junction box are recovered through mechanical processes. What does not yet have a mature recovery chain in the country is disposed of under control and documented. We are one of the few handlers on the border that takes this stream at all.
When should a solar panel be recycled?
At end of life (20–30 years), when it is damaged (hail, transport, microcracks), or when the installation is repowered with higher-efficiency modules. A degraded or broken panel cannot be reinstalled, but its materials are still recoverable.
Do you take lots from installers and solar companies?
Yes — installers, EPCs, insurers handling claims and companies with rooftop arrays are exactly our client profile. The service is B2B, by volume.
Do we receive documentation of the disposal?
Yes: a record of receipt and disposal for the lot, with the traceability your company needs for its environmental file or its ESG report.
